Peas (English, Garden or Sweet)

English or Garden Peas usually have eight peas to a pod.

Peas, also know as petit pois (Fr.) and piselli (It.), are, botanically speaking, a fruit, and more specifically, a member of the legume family.  Each pod can contain up to eight peas, and a pound of p0ds (about 450 grams) will roughly produce about a cup of peas, or slightly less than one metric cup.
